Bellacoll is a Korean collagen injectable made from type I porcine atelocollagen with lidocaine. Each box holds one 1 mL pre-filled syringe. It is used for the temporary correction of uneven soft tissue, such as facial wrinkles and folds, and for skin firmness.

It is a collagen product, not a hyaluronic acid gel, so it handles and behaves differently. Ask us about trade pricing if you order in volume.

What is Bellacoll made of?

Bellacoll is type I collagen from porcine (pig) skin in atelocollagen form, with lidocaine added for comfort. Atelocollagen is collagen with the telopeptides removed. Telopeptides are the end parts of the collagen molecule most linked to immune reactions, so removing them is meant to lower the chance of an allergic response.

Bellacoll vs a hyaluronic acid filler — what is the difference?

The main difference is the material. Bellacoll puts collagen itself into the tissue; an HA filler puts in a water-binding gel.

Bellacoll HA dermal filler
Material Type I porcine atelocollagen Cross-linked hyaluronic acid
Lidocaine Included Depends on the product
Main use Wrinkles, folds and skin firmness Lines, folds, lips and volume
Hyaluronidase Does not dissolve it Dissolves the gel
Animal origin Yes, porcine Usually non-animal

If you need a product that can be dissolved, choose from our hyaluronic acid dermal fillers.

What is Bellacoll used for?

Bellacoll is used for the temporary restoration of soft tissue in uneven areas, such as facial wrinkles and folds. The maker also describes benefits for skin elasticity and a more even skin tone.

The maker does not publish a set number of sessions or a duration in months. Follow the instructions for use in the box for the injection layer, volume and technique.

What should patients know before treatment?

Patients should know that the collagen comes from pigs. Some patients will decline it for religious or dietary reasons, so raise it at the consultation. Do not use it in anyone with a known allergy to collagen, porcine material or lidocaine.

How should Bellacoll be stored?

Store it at the temperature printed on the box and do not freeze. Check the seal and expiry date before use. Each syringe is for one patient only.
