SM Cream Lidocaine 10.56% 500g is a Korean topical anaesthetic with 10.56% lidocaine, supplied in a 500 g clinic jar. How long should SM Cream stay on the skin?
Leave it on under wrap for 20–30 minutes. Numbness can begin within about 15 minutes. After removal the effect lasts about an hour, and up to 90 minutes. Do not extend the contact time to chase a deeper effect.
How do you apply and remove SM Cream?
- Cleanse the area and pat it dry.
- Apply a generous, even layer to intact skin.
- Cover with cling film or another occlusive wrap.
- After 20–30 minutes, remove the wrap.
- Wipe off all the cream with a clean cloth or gauze.
- Disinfect the skin before you start the procedure.
Is SM Cream safe on large areas?
Use it with care on large areas. Lidocaine passes through the skin into the blood. A strong cream spread over a wide area, left on too long or wrapped tightly can raise blood levels. Treat one area at a time, keep to the contact time and never apply it to broken or inflamed skin. Stop and remove the cream if the patient reports dizziness, tingling around the mouth or ringing in the ears.
