Muchcaine 5% Plus is a Korean topical anaesthetic that pairs lidocaine 2.5% with prilocaine 2.5%, supplied in a 500 g clinic jar. It numbs intact skin before injections, mesotherapy, thread work, lasers and tattoo or PMU sessions. The two anaesthetics together give 5% in total, which is where the name comes from.

It is made for clinics that use numbing cream every day. Ask us about trade pricing.

What is in Muchcaine 5% Plus?

  • Lidocaine 2.5% — 25 mg per gram.
  • Prilocaine 2.5% — 25 mg per gram.
  • Preservatives — methylparaben 1.5 mg and propylparaben 0.4 mg per gram.
  • Cream base — light liquid paraffin, glyceryl monostearate, glycerin, isopropyl myristate, carbomer, trolamine, polysorbate 60, propylene glycol and purified water.

Lidocaine and prilocaine are both amide anaesthetics. Used together at equal strength they form the classic two-agent numbing mix.

How long does Muchcaine 5% Plus take to work?

Leave it on under plastic wrap for 25–35 minutes. The wrap matters: this cream is designed to be used under occlusion, which helps both anaesthetics pass into the skin. Thicker skin may need the full 35 minutes.

How do you apply and remove Muchcaine 5% Plus?

  1. Cleanse the area and pat it dry.
  2. Apply a thick layer to intact skin. Do not rub it in.
  3. Cover the area with plastic wrap.
  4. After 25–35 minutes, remove the wrap.
  5. Wipe the cream off with cotton or gauze and rinse with water.
  6. Disinfect the skin before you start the procedure.

Is Muchcaine 5% Plus safe on large areas?

Use it with care on large areas. Lidocaine passes through the skin into the blood. A strong cream spread over a wide area, left on too long or wrapped tightly can raise blood levels. Treat one area at a time, keep to the contact time and never apply it to broken or inflamed skin. Prilocaine adds a second limit: in high doses it can cause methaemoglobinaemia, so keep to small areas in sensitive patients. Stop and remove the cream if the patient reports dizziness, tingling around the mouth or ringing in the ears.

How does Muchcaine 5% Plus compare with similar numbing creams?

Choose by formula. Single-agent creams carry more lidocaine; two-agent creams add prilocaine at a lower total strength.

Muchcaine 5% Plus FAQ

What does 5% mean?

It is the total anaesthetic content: 2.5% lidocaine plus 2.5% prilocaine.

How long should I leave it on?

25–35 minutes under plastic wrap.

Is it weaker than a 10.56% lidocaine cream?

It has less lidocaine but adds prilocaine. Many clinics choose it for patients who do well with a two-agent cream.

Who should not use a prilocaine cream?

Avoid it in patients with methaemoglobinaemia or G6PD deficiency, and take care with infants and pregnancy.

Can it be used before fillers?

Yes. Remove all cream and disinfect the skin before injecting.
